What a great location and views. Food and service are equally great. A must when staying in Garmish or the surrounding area. In would recommend staying at the Riessersee Hotel for extra special trip. We have stayed here a few time.

Very nicely located restaurant with a great view over the Riessersee and the surrounding mountains. A meal here can be combined with a walk or a hike. The food is good but not excellent. The service is extremely attentive and friendly. There is a small children's playground nearby. The parking lot is chargeable all day.

The food - pork fillet in mushroom sauce with spaetzle was super delicious. The side salad is crisp and fresh. The service attentive and very friendly. If you're spending a few days in Garmisch, it's a great way to go out to eat. The ascent from Rießerseeweg should only be done in daylight, as there is no lighting and the path over the hill is very uneven.

A nice destination after an extensive hike. The restaurant is beautifully located on the lake with a wonderful view! The apple strudel was delicious and nicely presented.

Food was delicious. However, we had the feeling that the hotel guests were preferred. No one even asked if the food was tasty. We only saw the waiter ordering and paying. Too bad.

Service is an absolute disaster. Were there several times during our stay in the hotel next to (also bad service). No knowledgeable staff, you are often forgotten and simply treated unfriendly. Food is not good either ...

Great panorama with a view of the lake and the Zugspitze! Really very tasty food at good prices. However, you have to bring some time with you, about 30 minutes after ordering. Right next to it is a boat rental and a playground.

Wiener Schnitzel is frozen food! I am very disappointed. Service and atmosphere are good. Cake counter looked good ... But I was expecting a fresh schnitzel and I think even the waitress was ashamed to serve me something like that. Sad!!!

Good service and quality German dishes. The local ice hockey club earns its name from the small lake. A nice hike from the city center.

We had a nice place on the terrace with a terrific view. The terrace is equipped with a large awning so you could sit in the shade. The waiter was friendly, asked in between if everything was okay or we still wanted something. Drinks and food came quickly and was delicious. The asparagus maybe a bit al dente. But that is certainly a matter of taste.

We had halfpansion plan. Buffet didn't have very good selection for the price. At reception we were promissed typical Bavarian cuisine; for some reason mediteranian risotto is not associated with Bavaria for me. To be fair they had really good Bavarian soup. Some dishes been typical for Germany but not specifically for Bavaria. Drinks paid separately. They had some sweets but didn't serve coffee (8:30pm) because they already cleaned coffee machine. In general, it's good when you are tired after all day hiking in the mountains, but not good for what had been promissed.

The restaurant is in a very scenic location and the food is pretty good. I had iced creamy cucumber soup and Flammkuchen with Speckstreifen. Both were good.

Very nice view but very poor service and overpriced menu. A tourist trap. Go and see but do not eat.
